DLA FreemanWhite have been appointed to design the reconfiguration of the existing doctors surgery at Liversedge. The existing facility catered for two doctors practices with some community use; there is now only one doctors practice, however they are seeking to increase the number of minor surgical procedures performed at the same time. The community is looking to reconfigure their space within the health centre. The work is being designed to improve the patient experience as well as to update key systems within the health centre.

Purston Children's Respite Care Home
 
DLA FreemanWhite have been appointed to design a new purpose built Children's Centre, located in Featherstone, for the modernisation of respite care services for 5-19 year old children in Wakefield.

The scheme will replace two existing units in different locations with an integrated facility on a mature site. The site is on the edge of a public park adjacent to a grade II listed building. It will comprise of 2 four bed units with shared facilities. One unit will cater for severely physically disabled children and the other for children with challenging behaviour. The centre will provide short term (1-5 day) respite care and will be procured through the NHS P21 framework with our supply chain partner Kier. The 600m.sq, £1.2 million budget scheme is to be completed by September 2010 for the NHS and Local Authority Stakeholders.
